    Bullimah Beach

    Central Coast

    Beach

A tiny hidden cove on the Central Coast with unusual rock formations, tidal pools, and interesting geological features rarely seen this close to Sydney. The beach is reached via a short walk through coastal scrub, and its size means it never feels crowded. At low tide, the rock platforms reveal sea anemones, small fish, and other marine life — a great spot for curious kids and rock pool enthusiasts. Swimming is possible in calm conditions.

    Getting There

Drive north on the M1 to the Lake Haven/Wyong area. Access through Munmorah State Conservation Area — follow signs from Birdie Beach Road. Short walk from the car park through coastal scrub to the cove.

    Best Time to Visit

Low tide for the best rock pool exploration. Autumn and spring for comfortable coastal walks. Avoid high swell days for walking on the rock platforms.

    Tips

    • Check tide charts before visiting — low tide reveals the most interesting rock pools and marine life
    • Unsuitable for general swimming due to rips — come to explore the rock platforms and scenery
    • Look for unusual basalt formations in the rock platforms at the northern end of the cove

    Entry & Facilities

State conservation area entry fee applies ($8/vehicle).
