Bouddi National Park
A beautiful, less-visited beach in Bouddi National Park with golden sand, excellent surf, and a well-maintained campground directly behind the dunes. The park access road from Killcare Heights passes through lovely coastal scrub, and the beach itself has a relaxed, community atmosphere quite unlike the commercial beaches of the Central Coast. Camping bookings are essential in summer and long weekends. The walk south along the headland to Maitland Bay is highly recommended.
Drive north via the M1 to Gosford, then follow the Scenic Highway to Killcare and into Bouddi National Park via Araluen Drive. The sealed road leads directly to the Putty Beach car park.
Autumn for comfortable temperatures and smaller crowds. Summer sees the campground fill — book well in advance via the NPWS website. Autumn swells bring consistent surf for experienced surfers.
National park entry fee applies ($8/vehicle). Camping fees are additional.
