Berrima
A stunning cool-climate estate in the Southern Highlands producing exceptional wines on a property that has been farmed since the 1820s. The famous Book Barn — a sprawling second-hand bookshop inside a heritage woolshed — is reason enough to visit, and the restaurant overlooking the vines elevates it further. Tastings are available daily. The grounds are beautiful in autumn when the deciduous trees turn gold. Book a table for lunch on weekends.
Drive south on the Hume Highway to the Berrima exit. The estate is on Bendooley Road, Sutton Forest — clearly signposted from the highway. Ample parking on the gravel driveway.
Autumn (March–May) for spectacular vine foliage and golden afternoon light over the estate. Tastings available daily; the restaurant requires advance booking, especially for weekend lunch.
Free entry to grounds and cellar door. Tastings from $5–$10. Restaurant bookings required for weekend lunch.
